1. Keep distractions at bay
Everyone encounters distractions every day, and if you aren’t careful, they can ruin your whole day. It is therefore paramount to protect your precious working hours so that you can have your tasks that you have planned, completed.
Distractions might come from people you work with, communication tools like emails & phone, and internal distraction.
To control your communication distraction, have a clear set time windows where you can handle all your communication related tasks like emails, calls, social media, etc. Sometimes you might need to have flexibility with using communication tools depending on your job.
To control distractions from people, you can change your working location, or make, ‘’do not disturb’’ requests.
To control internal distractions, ensure you get enough sleep. This helps you avoid your thoughts from wandering during the day.

2. Plan your day
Always ensure you have your day planned in advance. This ensures you know exactly what you will be focusing on when your work day starts.

You can identify the most important tasks; complete them before moving to other tasks in your day.

A checklist is a list of items or things to be done or checked. A checklist helps you remember to execute a task in a consistent manner. Using checklists comes with many benefits like:

Helps you meet the criterion of your task

5. Focus on one thing at a time
Rather than trying to do many things at once, switch over to a mindset of focusing on just one thing while you are working.  After your task is done, move on to the next task, this helps you to process your task at hand much faster, since you are giving it 100% of your focus.

6. Take breaks
Taking breaks helps improve one’s performance. When your focus improves, so does your productivity. Since you have concentration on your tasks, you’ll likely make a better progress on your tasks.
